Mata is a good buy for any club. Waiting till the summer (or selling him to a foreign club this window) could mean we lose 5-10mil but it also guarantees that we won't be helping Utd. I'm not against selling him, it's inevitable, but I'm strictly against selling him to Utd during January transfer window. And if we do, let's hope the the sum we raked in is the reported 40 mil and not a penny less.

We've coped just fine without any elite strikers this season, mediocre fullbacks and inconsistent play from our CM's.

They're only 6 points behind Liverpool now. Adding a World Class midfielder who can score, always performs in big games and is one of the 3 best playmakers on the planet will be a massive improvement on Valencia and Ashley Young although he doesn't track back as well as those two. Which seems to be all that matters nowadays.

They're now my favourites for 4th.

We should considering bringing Moses back, IMO. It's insane if you look at it as a straight swap between Mata and Moses, but Moses would be the 5th AM, behind Schurrle, and offers width and is pretty decent in the 4-3-3. Instead of having an unhappy player on the bench who doesn't fit the squad, whose value drops every window.
