Mm not a good start. What are the predictions?

Youth team results are typically not that great. Chelsea's philosophy is to push the younger players up levels. This means that we often play with a number of schoolboys in the team. Development is the key here, results would be nice but not the all important thing.

At the club I frequent they operate the same principles in selecting a mixture of scholars & schoolboys & you also get some of the under 15's playing for the under 16's. They also get them to play in unfamiliar positions to give them an understanding & insight on what's required from that role. Personally I think its a double edged sword as these strategies are beneficial to the young players development but I think it needs a little more thought & control but that's selfishly speaking of course.
