The protest started because police killed a man. The riot started because police beat up a 16 year old girl.

She threw a stone at them, and they proceeded to beat her up. Respect to the people of Tottenham for these protests & subsequent riots, it's nothing the police there don't deserve, got a lot of friends up there who've seen worse from those police there.

Of course not. That has all been the cause of hooligans hijacking the true meaning of this protest.

Yet, once again, the actual reason for the violence of yesterday has been ignored.

A bit of anti social behaviour against our own people is nothing comapred to the social violence and deprivation caused by the bankers which we will be paying for for decades.

Social problems are caused by poverty, -the removal of Youth Services, EMA, jobs have left millions disenfranchised. There is no excuse for burglaries in neighbours homes -if it did happen, but you have to realise the corporate media lie -not just about Chelsea, but other issues.

A good example about this is the fact how they said this Duggan bloke fired a shot -it now transpires he didnt, and several witnesses have said he was on the ground and police shot him in the face.

This isnt the first time eg over 1000 people have died in Police custody since 1970, nearly all black, and not one policeman has been prosecuted. But the Daily HateMail, Telegraph etc would rather we all worry about a few looted Samsung 40" TVs

At least car bombs and petrol bombs have been kept out of all this...so far. To the point above, I think the Paris riots of a few years ago are a much more appropriate comparison.
