Why couldn't Romeu crack the squad but once Benitez came in he was consistently in the starting XI until his injury? We all saw how good he was so why was he hardly being played before?

He was awesome under Benitez unil he got injured. Hopefully he doesn't have similar knee problems to Essien! =(

Romeu at the best is just great. The tackle, interception and passing is class, make fellaini like a mediocre midfield...

If he can get back to that form he was in vs. Newcastle United/Manchester City (I think?) and sustain that I firmly believe we don't need to buy a new defensive midfielder. His understanding of the game is incredible. He's the most intelligent DM I can think of in the league from what I've seen of him.

When is he coming back?

I find it a pity that he got injured for so long.

With Benitez favoring Spanish players and technical/flair players I would have been interested to see how he does.

Mikel has never fitted the great model of the all attacking team ala Dortmund or Barcelona. But from the little we saw in Romeu he looked promising.

And Benitez has made the best of Azpilicueta, a Spanish RB that promise a lot, and now he is our main RB.

I thought the same would have happen with Romeu.
