  1. Chelsea Transfer Pub

Koulibaly is a millionaire. He's the highest earning player in Napoli EVER. I'm not too sure that's how racism works.
  2. Kai Havertz

Imagine having Ruben Loftus-Cheek alongside him (I actually think that's a very possible scenario). People will seriously jump on them every time we draw a match, let alone lose one. "They don't give a crap about a badge, put some effort in FFS ! Kante is the only one who cares in that midfield" Can't wait for that You do realize we're in the 3rd week of what will be 10-week transfer window, right ?
  3. Willian

I won't miss his overweight passes, that's for sure. The amount of time those passes, those simple 5-10 metres passes that he somehow managed to screw time and time again gave me rage boost far too many times. I stopped screaming at the screen after another failed attempt around 2016 but still sometimes my rage got the better of me and I couldn't contain myself but scream incessantly like a mad man. Really, what the hell man, how someone clearly so talented with such silky, smooth technique and touch couldn't correctly adjust the weigh of the pass for so long. And he never actually improved in this aspect. It's like he was one of the best players around to carry the ball and start transition attack but he was one of the worst to execute anything after that long sprint. So, so frustrating ... I still have mostly good memories though. Frank Lampard gave so much praise to Willian over the last 6 weeks that I too jumped on board of him staying here. And I think there's a reason why he was heavily used by every manager that was in the Chelsea dugout during his time here, why he was Brazilian international for most of his time here, why there was apparently big money offer from Barcelona, why Chelsea loosely wanted to give him 2 year contract even though they are strict to 1 year only rule for players over 30, why he finally got 3 year contract at Arsenal at the age of 32. He's really good player at the end of the day and you know what you get from him. Those frustrating things that he has plenty in his game are things that prevent him from going into higher echelons of players but still what's left is a good player with good qualities that made him play Champions League level for around 15 years which is very impressive. Another thing that comes to my mind right now is maybe another take on this eternal discussion who is a legend of the club and who is not and what merits are we using. Look at Willian and Eden Hazard and their respective Chelsea careers, they tick all the same boxes, they both been here for 7 years, they both won the same trophies including 2 league titles, they both have similar number of Chelsea appearances (339 for Willian to 352 for Hazard) so everything is on level playing field. Eden Hazard is clearly, clearly one of the Chelsea greats and legend without a shadow of doubt while no one will place this term next to Willian's name despite him ticking all the boxes (trophies, longevity, appearances). I find this take quite interesting and I will use this example in future days. Anyway, thanks for everything. What was bad now is irrelevant, I think about good stuff now and there was plenty to remember. Good transfer that was paid back in my opinion. The 3 years is too big of commitment for Chelsea though especially because you never know when player over 30 is going to dip with his physical capabilities. And we know that often times it's not a steady decline but rather a nosedive. So it was possible that Chelsea would carry his contract for another 2 years while already midway through the next season he wouldn't be up to it. Or maybe he will keep his fitness for longer. Right now he's still very useful and the problem is that we want Willian level of availability and reliable (to some degree) level of performances in the squad but unfortunately maybe will need to look in the market for that. I'm still not convinced we can stay injury free next season and have enough personnel for the whole season. It would be bad to spend 30-40m on squad player when you could essentially give Willian small signing-on fee and just pay his wages for the same output.
  4. Willian

No one actually noticed that he announced his departure on his birthday ?
  5. 24. Reece James

His form right now diefies all logic. He was the only dead certain youngster that you could bet your best bet that he's going to make it, in short and long run is going to be huge for this club because he's solid, steady, reliable, build like a tank with some amazing traits and some people even had the audacity to claim that Azpilicueta should never get a contract extension because a) he's washed up and b ) he'll throw a tantrum in the dressing room because he's being replaced by Reece. How things have changed ! Now Azpilicueta is the only reliable option in that defence and for a brief moment just imagine if he was released this summer. Ha ha ha. Self-caused implosion incoming. I'm still optimistic Reece is going to be good in the long run but it's just another example (no. 9873-ish) that whatever you think is right to do in footbal and whoever you think is great, there's nothing certain in football because there's too much variables and they are people after all. You may rightly think that one thing is better than the other but this absolute nonsense to suggest that everything is 0-1, black and white and one guy is shit and other is great and they're robots that will perform on same level whatever the circumstances - it's absolute nonsense (in Roy Keane voice). You don't have players with stats FM/FIFA-style in real life. But whatever. People will be proven wrong, have a brief contemplation and short-lived self-realization and then go back to the starting point. I won't lie though, I have a guilty pleasure in this situation. Sorry, Reece.
  6. Willian

    It still applies to now.
  7. 4. Andreas Christensen

He played in every game that Conte was in charge so far. Including EVERY possibile minute in 42 Premier League games. Se queda.
  8. Tiemoue Bakayoko

Jeez, what a beast. Love him already. He brushes opponents like he wants while he still can control the ball very tight. This is the player we needed for years.
  9. Diego Costa

If only I knew that "/" stands for divided by as in "G/xG" - goals divided by expected goals. Because I thought "/" should be read as "or" - goals or expected goals. That was confusing, now it's very clear mate. I will of course read how they come up with numbers in expected goals calculations. Hopefully there won't be many confusions or shenanigans. Tables in general are created to show something in easy way so if they are more difficult to read than text that's frustrating. Could you also point me to how to read those players radars? I have no clue why different players have different peak number for the same attribute. Thanks in advance.
  10. Diego Costa

I hate those radars and tables. Never have a slightest clue what is going on and how to read them. What's xG ? And how Aguero needs 50 shots to score 0.15 goal ? So he needs well over 300 shots to get one goal ? (50/0.15 > 300)
  11. The Conte Thread

Can we sack him already ? Clearly not here long term judging what he's doing with our youth players. Would get here Candreva, Llorente, Marchisio if he has his say. Just get over it and find somebody who cares about long term future of this club. Fucking knew that he's Mourinho with different spelling.
  12. Nemanja Matic

Always a bit sad to see a player who was part of winning team go, but honestly I'm least bothered I can be. He has no charisma whatsoever and last few months was a struggle to watch him. His current version is the player we do not want to have in the squad anymore. We'll always have his first half a year here when he was a beast, a City performance, a few dozens of awesome games in 14/15, decent showing in last year campaign with cherry pick on the top, that goal against Spurs. Thanks for that. He has become a joy killer lately and he killed momentum of so many attacks. As a squad player, yeah he can stay, but for that money we have option to sign more complete player. BTW His and Jose statement on official Man Utd website looks incredible hilarious like a text randomly generated in Fifa/FM Career mode, I can tell that none of them have nothing to do with this whatsoever. Ha ha. Can't think of scenario we won't sign a midfielder now.
  13. Nemanja Matic

    He's 28 until he's 29. That's how it works.
  14. The Conte Thread

Hint ? He's talking as straightforward as he can that he needs lots of players and most importantly better players than he has. He couldn't be more clear about it.
  15. Victor Moses

He has alarming low IQ. I just can't understand how player can't grasp offside rule. He's very, very good squad player. Costs next to nothing on FFP books, home-grown, relatively low wages. Athletic and good experience, in his prime years. But he should only be squad player.
  16. Non-Chelsea Transfer Pub

I wonder about that midfield spot. Kante, Fabregas and Bakayoko are 3 senior options for 2 spots. And Bakayoko has knee issues that we have to keep in my mind. We have to buy someone for Matic when he leaves. But I don't know who, can't even think about one. We'll surely be linked with one when Matic leaves. There's certainly young, Vidal esque player out there that we don't know about yet. We need to sign him,
  17. Jeremie Boga

Can integrate him and use him as 4th option or we can go and buy decent-not-world-class player in Mahrez ilk to completely block the path for our youngster. Those are decisions. Boga surrounded with quality can be something else. Eden Hazard + Jeremie Boga playing in one side is a dream. I was just sold a dream. Thanks Ospina.
  18. Alex Sandro

So he needs to getting used to it. Emergency option. 2nd choice LWB. Doesn't mean he won't play +30 games. He can easily slot ahead of Cahill for the place in 3 men block which I assume will be Van Dijk - David Luiz and Azpilicueta. Not bad at all.
  19. Alex Sandro

Chelsea gave him unique opportunity and exposure to the football world. There was a bit uproar that he was omitted from Spain squad. Some people are questioning why Chelsea are bringing the second best left-back in the world. Look at this. This time last year Alonso was nobody. I want to see him play as a LCB a few times. He could be very good there. His dealing with crosses is usually top notch, he can pass and deal with the pressure reasonably. BTW Like this type of question. Thinking straight, semi-long term, pretending like it's completely normal situation that we're signing top class player and not giving a hint that we're passing out on the floor in complete ecstasy. Riiight...
  20. Nemanja Matic

Funny if true. How can he joins the manager that subbed him on and off in the same game? But if Mata could make peace with Jose then Matic also can. He'd be good squad player but if the club receive such good money then it's yes every time. We're buying another midfielder alongside Bakayoko in this scenario. Honestly maybe we need more starting calibre central midfielders with our shortcomings upfront. We're likely to have Hazard, Pedro, Willian, Batschuayi and Lukaku, that's laughable comparing to City. We can play more times with 3 midfielders then and use Fabregas as creative source more often, with two adept midfielders alongside him and Alex Sandro on the left. It's unlikely anyway that we're signing top class creative player. The scenario with 3 central midfielders and Fabregas being one of them requires at least 4 absolute quality option, Matic isn't one so if we replace him with starting material midfielder with minimal net spend then it's advantage Chelsea.
  21. Alex Sandro

Apparently Juve are recalling a guy from loan, who coincidentally plays left wing-back.
  22. Alex Sandro

OMG. If this happens ... We should spend all our "wing-backs" budget on one truly world-class player. Right side can wait. We can collect money from sales and go all out in 2018 or maybe give Dujon Sterling a chance as he's made player for that position, excellent physique. I don't remember time when we had a world class winger and full-back/wing-back at the same time on one side. Truly historical move that would be. Beppe, love you for that one sentence at the end. We can dream for the next 2 weeks
  23. 9. Tammy Abraham

Was invisible whole game. Hopefully won't be dropped. Can't even think about him being with the squad next season if someone like Michy hasn't played last season.
  24. Alex Sandro

I know shit from Italian, apart from "cazzo" obviously, but I just opened the news and understood it completely. The sense, the figures, the Chelsea in there, just a question, is La Repubblica reliable ? Honestly, we should drop whatever it takes to have at least one elite wing-back. The axis of Hazard and Alex Sandro is the best in the world including both left and right side. We can get away with Kante and Bakayoko combo with such quality on the side. Elite signing, therefore unlikely to happen.
  25. The Conte Thread

That briefing from Chelsea was quick.
