As we are all well aware, nobody has any idea when we will get to watch our beloved Chelsea play football again, and its painful. However, there are more pressing things going on in the world right now and the focus rightly stays on getting through that and coming out the other side healthy. But […]View the full article

Think you're right the virus will put a lot on hold for quite a while. Shame in a way it's going- there were 85 000 there watching Kalou , I also miss the old Highbury and WHL as well, but that's just nostalgia

Yup any EU countries within the Schengen area you don't need to show passports.
Didn't know they were demolishing San Siro -saw us totally dominate there and lose 2-1

Lol, no, had a few days to fill and there were cheap flights to and from Malpensa airport (in Spain) so took them and went.
On a random note never realized you don't need a passport to go between some EU country's (Spain/Italy being two), half the passengers used ID cards at the check before the flight.

Highly probable China is covering up the real statistics. Two shipments of 5000 urns to one funeral home seems to tell a different story...….

Definitely -and using animal parts for 'medicine', like bear spleens and Rhino tusks. Completely mental

Putting aside the circumstances which put people in the at risk group, how likely are people to die from Corona then?

If my grandmother is lying in a hospital bed at death's door and in order to visit her I have to put my hand in a jar a pick one marble out of 100, with 3 of those 100 marbles poisonous, I would consider those odds insufficient to stay away from being there with her.

Obviously in this case, it's more like picking a contagious marble that can affect other people. But then it's a question of caution. What would be the chance of other people catching it from me? I could self isolate after visiting the hospital. I could take private transport home. I could do a number of things to mitigate the chance others get it from me.

It's not fool proof, but life is a game of probabilities. I cant help but think that theres a virtuous medium between having a gung-ho careless attitude to the pandemic and an overly timid approach where we give up some of the most important things in life. I see comforting and supporting dying loved ones as one those vital virtues.

The GPMB  -Global Preparedness Monitoring Board is led by former World Health Organisation (WHO) director-general and past Norwegian prime minister, Gro Harlem Brundtland.
    It warned Governments in 2018
‘A quick-moving pathogen has the potential to kill tens of millions of people, disrupt economies and destabilise national security.
a future pandemic similar to the Spanish flu could spread faster than ever before due to modern advances in international travel, the document said.
It could take just 36 hours for an airborne illness to travel around the world and kill 80,000,000 people,'

Government really ought to pay attention to them.....

Convenient. Coincidentally he has an impending deadline for the book he has been commissioned to write. To get the 350k down payment he has to meet the deadline. So excuse me for having doubts about this announcement. I suppose that the problem with being a serial liar, no-one is inclined to believe him whether something is true or not.
