  1. The Conte Thread

Fair point - but our loan style is haphazard to say the least and not really helping any players break through - I guess that is linked to the first team manager spot being a merrygoround every season
  2. 24. Gary Cahill

The guy is just a bellend full stop! Just ignore him and your life will be instantly better 😂😂😂
  3. The Conte Thread

This is true! We cannot keep expecting miracles - the club has been badly run for ages and we are now reaping what we have sowed. We need to identify a football philosophy (it pains me to say, as Man City have) and then shape the club , Acadamy, coaches and players to suit that philosophy. The constant chopping and changing is doing us no favours! I believe this might actually be a reality under Conte as long as Roman can keep his itchy finger buried somewhere!
  4. Hull v Chelsea

Exactly! If we can get our shit run of form out f the way now, I will be delighted
  5. Chelsea v Liverpool

Being Italian - maybe Conte ascribes to the 'Rome wasn't built in a day' philosophy. I'm sure he's assessing how our so called pro's are performing. To be fair you guys slating him - if he'd played a bunch of kids and 2-0 - he's useless If he plays the so called best players - he's shit - he's useless The real useless people are the players - he hasn't told them to go out and play that first half like dogshit. I expect a few subs and I expect to see a different team in the second half - I also hope this is the last we will ever see of Oscar and Iva - barring injuries. It hasn't and doesn't and never will work! but I still feel we can get a point from this game maybe even nick it - the Scousers will be over confident - time to pounce!
  6. Chelsea v Liverpool

    2-2 draw stop being pessimistic
  7. The European Leagues & Competitions Thread V2

Mate huge freak storm - missus plane was diverted - it was chaos everywhere planes landing all over the place!!! it was also 34.2 degrees today, hottest September since 1911
  8. Tammy Abraham

Not sure it's all about shots - being in the right place at the right time is a great attribute the amount of times I scream at our senior team - we never leave anybody on the penalty spot in opposition box - the amount if times the ball breaks there is unreal Lampard and Scholes had it - let's hope TA does too - would be amazing to finally have a diamond of a player from the Acadamy
  9. Tammy Abraham

Gary Lineker made a living from just that. Technique can be taught - anticipation and positioning is a natural thing If he has it - we could be looking at a real gem for this club - would be so nice
  10. Michy Batshuayi

Whilst funny - it does paint a shitty picture of our teams 'passing' abilities - we have loads in there that are rubbish
  11. Swansea 2-2 Chelsea

Because of the International break - things have been all over the place. he needs time to assess the players fitness and work with them in training to ensure they know their roles in the team and are gelling into the team. This all happens on the training ground. I think people have a warped view of a manager and picking players - it's not clicking a few buttons in FIFA/FM - in real life to do it properly and give everybody the best chance of success - it takes the 7 P's prior planning and preparation prevent piss poor performance the signings will get their chances - just be patient last thing you want to do is rush a player in - they have a nightmare, confidence tanks, points dropped and fans pissed off.
  12. The Mourinho Thread

I was 100% behind him leaving Chelsea - quite a few good people got banned for sharing my views. But let's face it - he has been a phenomenal manager and will always rank as one of the greatest. His achievements are second to none. However, the world keeps turning and Jose hasn't moved as quickly - his brand of football is fast becoming obsolete and the antithesis of what people want to see. People now want free flowing attaching football with lots of goals, not a 1-0 win. That's why so much money is changing hands. You could blame Mou - but that's life, older you get the more obsolete you become. Yes, I have slated him - but he has been there done it and worn the T-Shirt and I absolutely loved him first time round - he will always be The Special One - for those great years.
  13. The Mourinho Thread

Hahaha I saw that 😂😂😂 reap what you sow - hope Jose bankrupts them, at this rate that will be January!!! Waiting for his little horse comments 😂😂😂
  14. Oscar

I still think he is bang average and nowhere near the level we need Hes just faded away - after the CL goal I thought what a player and my hopes were high that we had plucked a gem out of nowhere. Now I just think - oh it's Oscar - bet he fucks up this simple pass and guess what he does The guy obviously has skill and ability - it has to be a mental issue - I'm just not sure he has 'vision' or 'anticipation' in his locker - that's what sets the great players apart from the average. He just doesn't seem to be decisive when he gets the ball - he always seems caught in two minds. I wonder if a sports psychologist could re-train him? I would love him to have a barnstorming season, for me to eat my words and to see this thread implode - but most of all because it would guarantee us CL...
  15. The Conte Thread

Exactly and @Tomo great point well made. That's what made Utd so successful under Fergie - they never gave up - ever! I think Conte knows this and come the end of the season, we will see a Chelsea team capable of fighting for 95+ mins. I like how he has motivated the team, his pressers and all round attitude. To think some are unhappy with him just defies belief
  16. 13. Thibaut Courtois

Maybe it's because he's young and entitled. I'm sure he will mature and will benefit from Conte, like he did at Atletico. He needs to let his football do the talking - but the same could be said of many of our players.
  17. The Conte Thread

Anybody complaining about Conte already is delusional plain and simple. We were dogshit last season - fact we are now Good/Average - that's a huge leap! If he can do the same again next season - we will be in a great place! this season is al about Top4 - that's our aim - to expect anything more is just crazy. Conte is doing a decent job - International breaks always fuck up our momentum. Onwards and upwards!
  18. The Conte Thread

Why do you think he joined City? He's not a stupid bloke - City needed a few signings to be a really great team. Chelsea needed at least 5-6 signings and the team individually is below that of City Our team struggles with passing and moving - we are slow and static - we have no desire to make angles and give the person on the ball options. This will improve - but it takes time and a change of personnel - we need Cahil and Iva dropped, Azpi on the right and new guy (again) on left we need Cesc + Kante in midfield. As for today - their goal was a foul on Cahil - no surprise Marriner didn't see it - easily one of the most useless refs around we should have scored 4-5 - it has been a perennial problem. Hazard, Willian & Oscar do not score anywhere near enough goals. The improvements will be slow and painful - but as long as we are improving I'm happy.
  19. General Transfer Talk

I call bullshit Fabregas is the only player we have with vision - selling him would be a huge mistake in Jan... Unless they can bring in a quality number 10 in the same window and a midfielder to sit alongside Kante (unless Matic, the real Matic, finally decides to turn up)
  20. Loïc Rémy

Darren Anderton was the one I remember most
  21. Nathaniel Chalobah

The gulf between youth and senior is just too great - there has to be a better system, but for now we are stuck with what is on offer. Loans are definitely the only way to really test a player right now. I agree with your analysis - I think it's just the romance of it that makes people over-appreciate the players ability. I have no doubt though that we will produce a couple of outstanding players.
  22. Kevin de Bruyne

Him and Silva rotated the No.10 position jesus - why we sold him I will never know
  23. Frank Lampard

I still love Frank - sure he made a mistake - but who hasn't - that boy played his socks off for us season in season out - we still haven't replaced him and likely never will - a true one in a lifetime player and thank fuck we had him
  24. Donations

Cool - just donated - keep up the good work, but skint this month, but will try for more in the future
  25. The English Football Thread

Jesus I live in Peterborough - can't believe so many fans arrested ! I think it was the Millwall game Actually - I can, they aren't the brightest screws in the box Can't believe we are in the CL place - bet Arsenal fans are pissed off ???
