Iseah, he was selling them illegally. The store owner called the cops. What were the cops supposed to do ? Tell the store owner "Sorry but it's just cigarettes so we're not gonna do anything."
How can you speak of harassement ? Eric Garner was doing something illegal... When you do something illegal, cops are gonna show up. When you continue to do illegal stuff cops are gonna to continue to show up.
This wasn't murder. The cop held him in a chokehold for 5 seconds until Garner was on the floor. When they had Garner's hands behind his back he let go of the chokehold. It's really clear that the intent of the cop was to subdue him to the ground so they could arrest him, not kill him. Do you really think the cop wanted to kill Garner ? I don't.
What happened to Garner had nothing to do with his skin colour. If he were white, the cop would have done the same thing. I know that that is just my opinion and not a fact but i've seen no proof that the cop would have reacted differently if Garner was white. Have you ?
Main problem with these situations is that there's a lack of trust. The moment a white cop shoots a black person (or does anything that ends up hurting a black person) , black people (not all black people but a lot of them) have made their mind up about it, "The cop was a rascist, hatecrime, he shot him because he was black". There's no more room for "the cop made a mistake (cops are human after all), an unfortunate accident (like what i believe garner's death to be).
Problem is that this is a vicious circle. If a situation happens where a white cop shoots a black person. Black people get more distrustworthy of white cops. Black kids (again not all black kids) see the news and think "white cops are rascist, out to get us so i'm not gonna cooperate with them or else i'm gonna end up dead. They get more rebellious towards cops which results in more situations where accidents and mistakes are more likely to happen.
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2563445/Georgia-teen-holding-Nintendo-Wii-controller-shot-police-thought-holding-gun.html
This is an article about a female cop shooting a white 17 y old boy holding a Nintendo wii controller.
Kid opened the door with the controller in his hand. The cop thought it was a gun and opened fire.
Now could you imagine what the aftermath would have been if that 17 y old boy was black ?

I hated TOPTB when he first joined. Absolutely couldn't stand him, but over time he grew on me and was actually one of my favourite posters.
Disappointing, but understandable. Although I think some of the staff acted just as badly towards him and were somewhat provocative.

Is anybody else a little sad that 'The only place to be' has been banned
I'm not knocking the mods - I'm sure you gave plenty of warnings etc
I will just miss that opposing view and way of looking at things from a different angle
Anyway back to your philosophy and illuminati - strange pub this is

    Why are people moaning? He's:
Cheap Experienced in the PL - 14 goals in 26 games with a shit Newcastle team is an excellent record Clearly ambitious, hence why he joined us Willing to fight for his place (otherwise he'd have joined Arsenal where he'd be automatic first choice) An excellent squad player At his absolute peak in terms of form and physical fitness Able to perform as a CF or LW/RW in a 4-2-3-1 £10m cheaper than any other valid option, i.e. Destro, who also isn't proven in this league Not shit like Torres Why the fuck are people moaning?

You cannot hail the board enough for their achievements in the transfer market as of late.
    Replaces Torres with Remy.
    Matic, Fabregas, Costa, Luis.
    Azpi, Hazard, Oscar.
We've got a sexy looking squad at the moment. Long may it continue!

In : Costa, Fabregas, Luis, Remy and Courtois returning.
    Out : Torres (!), Ba, Eto'o, Luiz.
All our mediocre players gone and replaced with top quality all round.
Summer window of 2014/15 has probably been the best in CFC history. Very well done to the board and Mourinho

Today, police have been running around the central railstation in Copenhagen armed with submachine guns and kevlar vests, searching for what was described as a 'mysterious character'. A woman called the police, saying that she had observed strange behaviour from a passenger on one of the trains. He carried a large bag, looked very nervous and was reading a book of globalisation and the war against terror. When they both left the train a device fell out of his bag, and he looked even more nervous than before.
It turned out to be an English student, who was about to attend an exam, where he needed to bring his own printing device, and he was only nervous because of the exam and because he thought his printer had been damaged. LOL.

Within a season of returning we have solved a lot of our problems that have plagued us for years.
Don't get me wrong the board deserve great credit for there work in making it happen but Jose surely played a part in really pushing for the reinforcements and changes that were so desperately needed.
Looking back at our squad in 12-13 compared to now is unreal (won't even bother comparing 11-12 squad, the more I look at it the more I wonder how the fuck we pulled the CL off), holes in centre midfield, no top class striker, no real depth in attacking midfield, Ross Turnbull as back up keeper.
That's why Jose us simply the best, Wenger for example has left key areas unfixed so many times, whereas within a year Jose has sown up so many weaknesses we had previous.
But like I said the board deserve there dues for pulling it off to, to go from the shit we were in at the start of 2012 (let's be honest things looked dire and if it weren't for the Munich miracle we would still be at an early stage of recovery, it's understated just how vital that win was, it meant so much more beyond lifting the trophy, the consequences of losing would have been 100 times worse than Moscow) to a position were we could have another sustained spell of trophies in two and a half years with a healthy net spend is just unbelievable.
Just think how much shit we looked in 2 and a half years ago, ageing squad, no one we could really sell, FFP looming, us looking like we were heading to channel 5.
Hopefully lessons are learned this time, that being keep evolving when your on top because no matter how perfect the squad looks, there's always ways to improve further, next time we probably won't get a CL to speed up our recovery.

Have a gut feeling Cech will start. He's the safer option.
  24. Peppen liked a post in a topic by The only place to be in Thibaut Courtois
Probably away to Stoke last season and continued throughout the season. Not really flapping, but being hesitant on indecisive and he was dropped for the Steaua match after that.
Miles better? Think that's a mild exaggeration but wasn't Cech still playing in Rennes at Courtois's age?
How many Champions League Finals matches had he appeared in to that point? Did you see him play much at Rennes?
It's weird that people like you and lionsden who tend to moan quite a lot about us not giving youth players a chance are now criticising us giving a truly world-class young player a chance. There's some god-level cognitive dissonance going on there.
Is it possible he's more exciting because he's a better player at this point in time?
