  1. 7. N'Golo Kante

He really does remind me of Essien, so glad for him to get on the score sheet, Hazard called it btw, last week in the interview at Leicester!!
  2. The Mourinho Thread

Good to see him blaming his players already and also them looking devoid of any tactical offensive play, carbon copy almost of us. Also, Pogba flinging his arms around moaning at every misplaced pass or everytime he's tackled is great to see.
  3. Diego Costa

Considering Dyche commented on Conte being a dinosaur in terms of management prior to the game..
  4. Cesc Fàbregas

To be honest I never expected him to be so professional and I hope he stays that way as with a 3-5-2 or whatever you want to call it I think he absolutely thrives.. Hopefully he's waiting for that..? Thought we could of done with him coming on earlier yesterday.
  5. The Conte Thread

Last season we were totally devoid of anything offensively, it was well documented that the focus was on being organised/defensive tactics and the 'flair'/attacking players were left to it.. How many times did we get to the edge of the box last season then go back? Or not accelerate into the box or play the forward pass? Or even give the opposition time to regroup because the transitions took too long between midfield.. Things are coming along nicely and at the start of the season I said I'd be happy with 4th with seeing progression on how we play/players attitudes toward a manager that is very demanding in a different way to Jose. Easy to say now Jose is gone, we all drank the coolade, or most of us but you never go back to an ex, or if you do, normally its until you quickly realize why you gtfo in the first place. Looking forward to Liverpool, feel like this game will show us where we are/how far we need to go this season to challenge a team that I think will be there or there-abouts for 4th.
  6. Gary Cahill

About 10 seconds away from seeing that bottom lip quiver.. Wouldn't be shocked if I see 'FA to investigate....' later today but he's completely right.
  7. John Terry

Totally understand the club saying this. Also saying that no deal is on the table and having John or whoever say that contracts take a few months to get done is a poor excuse. preferably we'd of done the same with Ivanovic so I can also understand the timing of the leak. Having the new manager decide is perfect, clean break or keep him on depending on whether whoever the new manager is etc. Plus we should see him playing out of his skin from now till the end of the season more so than we already do.
  8. Thibaut Courtois

Reports that he wants to go to R Madrid in the summer, usual newspapers.
  9. Abdul Rahman Baba

Look so much more balanced with a natural left back. Same situation with Luis last year though.. Should retain his place for Stoke. Good to see him covering behind Terry for diagonal crosses just like Ashley used to.
  10. The Mourinho Thread

stand up for the special one
  11. The Mourinho Thread

All I've heard this morning on the radio is that he has tomorrow to save his job with Hiddink ready to take over until the end of the season, its absolutely ridiculous that we have not even HALF a season thats terrible yet we're ready to pull the trigger on £30million contract dismissal and getting rid of the manager we all wanted back for years and years. I don't agree with everything thats happened but yeah I can bang on about the transfers that were not done because thats the issues that a manager foresaw, same as we all said toward the end of last season "Wow we really need a world class CM" to say the least. It'll be a sad day when we're all back here posting for a new managers head, same old Chelsea with no stability - does Jose need to evolve as a manager? Sure. But we need to evolve as a club instead of the hiring/firing mentality we have. Who comes in? Hiddink? To the end of the season? His last 'good job' was Chelsea. Ancelotti? No thank you, we've been there with that eyebrow before. Bielsa? Seriously. someone suggested that and I can't remember who but my.. give me whatever your on. Pep at the end of the season? I think its safe to say that Munich didn't get as much as they hoped for with Pep, league titles in Germany when they consistently spend a good amount of money against the competition + buying their stand out players. Its a tough period that we'll be better off for if we see it through. I was slapped down for this transfer argument previously but seriously, we had our business done early with Fab/Costa, settled pre-season, complete reverse in the summer and we're suffering, why does everyone have such an issue with that? Would it be the worst thing in the world to make it to 4th, get the players he wants in the summer and then compete again next year?
  12. The Mourinho Thread

Progress with what? Players he didn't get? We want £40m John Stones and we ended up with Papy a £2m signing, just put that into perspective for a moment. Do I agree with everything Jose does? Absolutely not, do I think he's the right man for us? Absolutely. Its a tough period, other teams have been through similar in seasons past we just have to fight our spoilt brat attitudes after being lauded with trophies. To me, it said to the board exactly what Jose said 'After winning the league standing still in the transfer window is dangerous'
  13. The Mourinho Thread

100% and I'm glad he's in the position of power. We need stability and fortunately we are being forced into keeping on that track rather than panicking after bad results/some issues. Try being an Arsenal fan, 10 years with nothing, unfortunately our success came too quickly and in the modern world Chelsea fans are spoilt as fuck, sadly. Still behind Jose, so what, one season of mediocrity after not getting Jose's summer targets, I'm fine with that. Chill.
  14. The Mourinho Thread

Well I read something this morning that kind of made sense "The players are bored with playing in a tactical straight jacket and want to play with more flair/freedom" I can see a few of our players that might feel that way, Eden for one.
  15. The Mourinho Thread

on sky at the moment on the yellow ticker that hes survived a board meeting this morning
  16. The Mourinho Thread

Sometimes teams have horrific periods, why are we always the first set of fans to call for a sacking no less of Jose, who 90% of the fan base wanted back at the club. We had problems from March, Jose gave the board targets in June, didn't get who he wanted so now we play with who we have, simple. What's the issue? It's a bad patch, seriously hate to think what would happen to some of you had you been Arsenal fans. Stick with the manager, stick with the team, under performers included, so what if we have one bad season and come fourth or something? Just means we missed an opportunity in the summer to reinvest, Jose said standing still isn't a good idea, we did. They need to have a serious sit down and hash it out before Southampton that's for sure... Because I have a ticket! Ha.
  17. Kevin de Bruyne

    sigh, chill with the goals
  18. Mario Pašalić

Watched the game, unfortunately very average display, I don't watch him often btw it was just on stream.
  19. 12. Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Looked knackered 10 minutes before he came off, hopefully he can recover by Saturday to put a shift in, feel as though Matic-RLC is our best chance against Arsenal. If I see Matic and Fabregas lining up or Ramires together, switching the TV off.
  20. Abdul Rahman Baba

Considering it was his debut, played great, few lapses in concentration but our left side looked so much bettter, equally as good as our right side.
  21. The Mourinho Thread

Chill out, I'm not happy with our performances but look at other clubs in past seasons, they've had much worse. Some fans, whilst entitled to their own opinion as this is a forum, are simply ridiculous.
  22. Diego Costa

We arn't playing like we did at the start of last season hence he struggles, its not rocket science.. we are playing into feet, back to goal, his first touch is awful, we always knew that, he's best given space to run into. I honestly think Falcao would have been a better choice at half time.
  23. Petr Cech

    Laughed again.
  24. Petr Cech

  25. Oscar

    That goal reaction.............
