How the hell 'are we supposed to make a statement' when this is basically almost the same team and with just 1 pre-season game to accommodate the signings? Not to mention other 5 new players are yet to make an appearance for Chels.
Jesus, 'we are supposed to make a statement'

    Jeez that corner save...

I kinda agree but the problem is bud we have that same old monkey on our back. The back 5!!!
We bave only brought in 1 proper defender and hes not playing. So alllll those teams that took us apart on the break are still going to be looking to do it.
I THINK that FL THINKS like you and HOPES we score a couple early with our new amazing attack that it just demoralizes the opposition so they give in.
Im wondering if Kai might start on RW and FL sticks 2 number 8s in with Captain N'Golo

I see West Ham have Arse up next so the Arteta wankfest will continue unabated after they put 5 past them next week.

Overreacted? Really? Did you watch us last season? We were equally as bad. Set pieces probably as bad as the ones weve seen from Leeds today.

Hmmmmmm you would hope so...or this is a one off moment that makes sense and back to normal next time

Exactly. Finally these clowns are using the technology as it should've been used from the start.
No more VAR guy up in a booth always sticking with the on-pitch ref's initial decision. There will hopefully be a lot of stupid referee decisions overturned after they check the monitor this season.

He was a child how he behaved. Sulking, pouting, threw all his toys out of his pram because he was left on the bench awhile. Didn't help the mood in the dressing room at all. Then instead of holding his hands up like a man and saying Ok I'm sorry. I was angry and frustrated he blamed it on a 6 year old daughter. I wouldnt care who had done that I would lose respect for them.

    Agree mate.
But it's still really depressing that we're going to start with last seasons back four ,and GK's

This is a transfer we have to trust the likes of Cech on etc....There is a fine margin here as we paid through the nose for Kepa, he's shite so people are hardly jumping through hoops to buy him or take him on loan I assume.
It speaks to me like the club buying Mendy, starting him and saying to Kepa "This is how you do it"
Could be wrong but I simply cannot see anyone being worse than Kepa.

I kept looking at the England goalkeeper, and thought I know that bloke, not quite sure who he is...but I know hes a horrible cunt. Who the fuck is he ??

Never ever seen a team as lucky as England for getting wins that they do not deserve, they always seem to come out smelling of roses...
    Another shite performance once again

So good to see a manager who is involved and dedicated fully to get his targets, last time a manager of us got dedicated and was influential in getting the player was probably Conte with getting Kante. Massive pull Lampard, massive heart, as long as we play good and are in the Top 4 Lampard should one hundred percent stay here as long as possible. Trophies will eventually come if we play good and he continues this type of work in the tranfer periods.

Somehow this doesn't surprise me..and it's worrying to think how costly it will be really if still leaking goals here and there
  21. Laylabelle liked a post in a topic by Magic Lamps in 1. Kepa Arrizabalaga
Goalie confidence does not just come and go like for outfield positions. Esp at top clubs even Kepa will have quite a few clean sheets without having to make a real save. This does not build confidence. Keeper confidence builds of weeks of making crucial interventions and commanding respect from teammates and opponents. And a single error wil undo these weeks of success. I never praised Kepa and never will (as a player overall ofc) cos he is just a bang average goalie at best. If and that is a big if he gets going on form again we have an average goalie on good form, which is still a lot worse than having Alisson or Ederson or even Dubravka or Guaita on average form. Kepa is just one of thousands of poor goalies who were flattered by some decent form and once their confidence is shot are exposed as the average duds they are. In short, he is not just worth the hassle to get him back to form cos we will concede dozens of goals in the process bc of him with no guarantee of success. He is an average goalie even on top form bc of his average to poor natural athletic ability, his average two feet and his batshit saving/jumping technique, which a proper gk coach should have bludgeoned out of him early in his career, now its too late.

I wasn't praising kepa in the past and I haven't said anything negative about RLC.

I'm generally always one of the most optimistic people on here about most things... But when it comes to kepa it is different.

No issues if he stays here to fight for his place as I said previously the club probably need some better performances from him or maybe just some time to distance himself from the performances last year to be able to sell him.

There is a chance he turns good but in my opinion its small especially with a goalkeeper.

He isn't gonna get any taller and that's been an issue of mine with him since he joined. He looks small in the goal. And we aren't talking about a bad season we are talking about the worst save percentage in the history of the Premier league. Now sample size and all that can change things but even if you allow for some abnormalities that is woeful and I struggle to see how he is gonna turn good. He won't be any worse than last season thats for sure.

But we conceded very few shots but conceded shit tons of goals and a lot of that has to go down to kepa

It is kinda silly that we spent so much money on attacking players - half of them on one player that we maybe do not need - and are now left scrambling for an above average option for a position that gave us so many problems last season. We could end up with a situation where our good work going forward gets undone by a dodgy keeper at the back this coming season.
