Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho on drawing Manchester City away in the last-16 of the FA Cup: "No problem. If you want to be the best then you have to play the best, so it's good for us. One team is the end product. One team needs to improve and has a long way to go."

  8. Kenneth Omeruo

Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo is poised to join Middlesbrough on loan from Chelsea. Middlesbrough's Spanish manager Aitor Karanka confirmed a deal is being finalised after their 2-0 loss to Hull City in the FA Cup third round. Karanka knows Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho well having been his as assistant at Real Madrid. "I am happy (Omeruo) will come here to help us. I think that he will come until the end of the season," he said. However any deal for Ghana's Michael Essien seems less likely. " I said to him [Jose Mourinho] 'listen, can I take Michael Essien' - maybe not, but me and the club are working to take players," he added. BBC Sport understands the clubs have agreed a deal in principle, with Omeruo set to finalise the move by Monday. The 20-year-old has been training with the Chelsea first team, but knows he needs regular football to make the Nigeria squad for June's World Cup.

  18. UEFA Youth League

Chelsea Select UEFA Youth League Squad Scottish sensation Islam Feruz was impressive for Chelsea throughout the NextGen Series last year. Chelsea have named a very strong squad for their inaugural UEFA Youth League campaign. Lewis Baker, Nathan Ake, Islam Feruz and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are all increasingly becoming household names and have been named in the under 19 squad. Feruz has been particularly impressive since joining the London club from Celtic over two years ago now. The 17-year-old has played for Scotland at every youth level, most recently making his debut for the under 21 side where he has now racked up four appearances and netted twice. He made his first-team debut for the Blues pre-season against a Malaysia XI side. He was also the joint topscorer in last season’s NextGen Series competition, meaning any defence should fear the young Scotsman in this competition. Chelsea will play Schalke, Basel and Steaua Bucharest in the group stage. Full Squad: (from @ChelseaYouth) Mitchell Beeney, Ben Killip, Ola Aina, Nathan Ake, George Brady, Andreas Christensen, Dion Conroy, Fankaty Dabo, Jordan Houghton, Jonathan Muleba, Kevin Wright, Charley Musonda, Lewis Baker, George Cole, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Isak Ssewankambo, John Swift, Kasey Palmer, Islam Feruz.

  24. Kevin de Bruyne

The first question the Portuguese was asked after the game was on the fitness of Kevin De Bruyne, who injured himself while scoring our second goal. He was happy to report encouraging news. 'When he was on the floor and asking for a change everybody thought the worst, but the first assessment by the doctor is that [it is not] ligaments, and if it's something in the meniscus it has to be a very small injury, so we believe it is not an important injury and hopefully it isn't because the kid is a fantastic player. A kid, but a man on the pitch. Hopefully it's nothing important and he will be ready soon. 'The doctor wants to do some control tomorrow, and after tomorrow if necessary he will go to London. But the doctor's feeling, and I trust him a lot because he is very experienced, is that it's nothing important and during the next week here he can recover.'
