Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho on drawing Manchester City away in the last-16 of the FA Cup: "No problem. If you want to be the best then you have to play the best, so it's good for us. One team is the end product. One team needs to improve and has a long way to go."

  7. Kenneth Omeruo

Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo is poised to join Middlesbrough on loan from Chelsea. Middlesbrough's Spanish manager Aitor Karanka confirmed a deal is being finalised after their 2-0 loss to Hull City in the FA Cup third round. Karanka knows Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho well having been his as assistant at Real Madrid. "I am happy (Omeruo) will come here to help us. I think that he will come until the end of the season," he said. However any deal for Ghana's Michael Essien seems less likely. " I said to him [Jose Mourinho] 'listen, can I take Michael Essien' - maybe not, but me and the club are working to take players," he added. BBC Sport understands the clubs have agreed a deal in principle, with Omeruo set to finalise the move by Monday. The 20-year-old has been training with the Chelsea first team, but knows he needs regular football to make the Nigeria squad for June's World Cup.

  18. Kevin de Bruyne

The first question the Portuguese was asked after the game was on the fitness of Kevin De Bruyne, who injured himself while scoring our second goal. He was happy to report encouraging news. 'When he was on the floor and asking for a change everybody thought the worst, but the first assessment by the doctor is that [it is not] ligaments, and if it's something in the meniscus it has to be a very small injury, so we believe it is not an important injury and hopefully it isn't because the kid is a fantastic player. A kid, but a man on the pitch. Hopefully it's nothing important and he will be ready soon. 'The doctor wants to do some control tomorrow, and after tomorrow if necessary he will go to London. But the doctor's feeling, and I trust him a lot because he is very experienced, is that it's nothing important and during the next week here he can recover.'

What about Mark Schwartzer. from Fulham available on a free and wants to stay in London not a bad goalkeeper worth a 1 year contract
  21. Thibaut Courtois

Sam Walker was on loan at Colchester last season but i think we need a bit more experienced goalkeeper someone on loan for 1 season
  22. Thibaut Courtois

PL rules say we should have 3 keepers as Courtis is staying for another year on loan and Turnbull and Hilario are leaving we only have Cech and Blackman so we need to sign another
  23. Romelu Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku returning to Chelsea next season with vow to prove his worth The 20-year-old scored 17 Premier League goals while on loan at West Bromwich Albion last term and previously said he would like to stay at The Hawthorns for another year. But a conversation with Mourinho has convinced the Belgium striker he can compete for a place with the likes of Fernando Torres and Demba Ba and still fulfil his dream of going to next summer's World Cup finals. "I always said my ambition was to play for Chelsea," said Lukaku, who cost £18m when he arrived from Anderlecht in August 2011. "Now I will go back to Stamford Bridge and try and play even more games than I did at West Brom. If I can score a few early on, it can turn into a really good season for me. "I have had a good conversation with Jose Mourinho, and I know it's up to me to show I'm worth a place. "It is the World Cup next year, and I need to be playing. But if I don't get in the Chelsea team often enough, then I won't deserve to be in the national squad. "I am not afraid of that. I am determined to succeed with Chelsea next season. I want to prove myself. "People will compare me with Didier Drogba, and he was always my hero. But I am my own man, and I want to be known for what I do."
