  1. Jadon Sancho

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea have now emerged as potential frontrunners for Borussia Dortmund attacker Jadon Sancho. Frank Lampard is eager to bring the England international to Stamford Bridge while the 19-year-old, who grew up in Camberwell, South London, likes the idea of coming back home. Sancho had a breakthrough season last term. The 19-year-old made 43 appearances across all competitions, scoring 13 goals and providing 19 assists. Jadon doesn't seem to be slowing this campaign either. In 24 matches so far, the winger has recorded a solid tally of 12 goals and 13 assists, including 9 goals and 10 assists in 15 Bundesliga fixtures. Despite such a young age, the former Manchester City Academy kid is already a regular for England. The wonderkid has won 11 international caps. In September, the attacker scored his debut goal for the Three Lions - a brace in the 5-3 win over Kosovo within the 2020 UEFA Euro qualification. https://tribuna.com/en/chelsea/news/3536535/ Not the best of sources claiming the story for now but well, it sounds promising by now. Sky bet has him on 5/4 for joining Chelsea. ... I think it would be great buy, he ticks all of the boxes and our 4-3-3 (Kovačić-Kante-Jorginho) with him would be deadly and balanced. Only downside would be less playing time for Pulisic-CHO-Mount, because I guess we won't be selling Willian.
  2. Chelsea's Transfer Targets

Yes, and Mahrez is faster, better dribbler.
  3. Chelsea's Transfer Targets

Ziyech's stature and looks reminds me of Mahrez. Hope he can be successful like him too
  4. Super Frank Thread

Totally agree, and when you think about this - one of Azpi or James would need to make space for Alonso. Azpi - our captain who still has a lot to offer, and James, our brightest prospect.
  5. 10. Willian

Our supposedly WORLD CLASS player has problems because we play him 3 meters more advanced than it should be his true position in your opinion? Am I getting this right?
  6. 19. Mason Mount

He has too much Oscar vibes about him. Not too optimistic about his development, but hope he does it eventually. We are even starting to have same story as with Oscar - he isn't in form, he is inconsistent. Nope, for now he is just what we are seeing in recent games. Massive improvement in terms of creativity is needed (passing intelligence and accuracy first and foremost).
  7. Jadon Sancho

With time I am giving up of that idea too, because we are shit in scoring even when we play with Mount instead of Kovačić. If we buy Sancho for RW lets say and play 4-3-3, other winger (CHO/Puly) + Abraham are just not enough in terms of end product. But I don't think 4-2-3-1 with Mount is solution either, but he might improve. For now, he is a new Oscar to me.
  8. Super Frank Thread

Well, that is a bit more than I thought, but my point still stands because for me it's simple - Chelsea from 2009 let's say relied on three players to score 13+ goals: Drogba, Lampard and Malouda. In other seasons too, Drogba+Lampard+Anelka let's say. And now I want us to rely on 3 players to score those amounts as well: Abraham and two wingers. Goals were not dutty of I don't know how much players, it was from three players. In keeping current situation, as you would wish, I think we would end up with squad that will never be good enough to take down big guys. Lampard never played 4-2-3-1 against bigger sides for right reasons, we are just too fragile defensively like that (IMO we'd need to replace 2-3 players from defense to support that formation against bigger sides), hence why we had Kova and 4-3-3 to bring stability. But 4-3-3 as it is now has no enough firepower. So yeah, I don't see how could we have WC first XI continuing like that. I am for bringing Sancho, but I am not for playing 4-3-3 all of the time, of course. We can still play 4-2-3-1 against smaller sides so Mount and Pulisic could get more goals (I assume CHO will be our starter sooner rather than later, and both Mount and Puly could get to the 7-8 goals being rotational players).
  9. Super Frank Thread

And in the past, with Lampard, we also had all Maloudas and Joe Coles of this world - wingers which are usually not scoring more than 10 goals per season. Also, Ballack never scored more than 9 goals per season, Essien never more than 6 (so same as Kante). So I guess everyone scored 7-11 goals (except Lamps and Drogs). I think we can have situation where Kova, Kante and Jorginho all have let's say 6 goals each, and wingers 15-17. I am thinking more about the future here, but agree that we sometimes need to play 4-2-3-1 with Mount as #10. EDIT: Kovacic scored 8 goals for Inter Milan in his last season, I think he is capable of doing that with us too.
  10. Super Frank Thread

Neither formation doesn't always work, but we can have world-class squad playing 4-3-3 with 2 new players, if you ask me. I think it was Willian's, Mount's and Abraham's job today to provide penetration, and they didn't deliver until late in the game. I am not blaming Kovacic, Jorginho and Kante for our lack of penetration, because they all did their job as they should. Our most advanced players didn't. Anyway, what do you suggest, how should we play?
  11. General Transfer Talk

Do we have Sancho topic on forum? I can't find it and we certainly need it.
  12. Super Frank Thread

And not only that - if we had some better side-back (either left or right) it would help us a lot! Sancho and some attacking LB would solve us a lot of problems.
  13. Super Frank Thread

I think it's clear now that we cannot leave Jorginho on the bench. He is just too important to us. Proper player and proper character, our vice-captain. Kovacic and Kante too. We really need to play 4-3-3 and do whatever it takes to make it work, because our midfield is so dominant like that, one of the best in the world. It even provides a lot of cover for our defense, compared to 4-2-3-1. So, let's bring more fire-power upfront, play 4-3-3 and call it a day.
  14. Chelsea's Transfer Targets

Yes, well, this is not easy problem to solve. Our top 4 chances are not so bold anymore. We can choose - either keep current situation (which may be healthier regarding the quantity and competition) and risk not finishing top 4, or buy Sancho which improves our chances for top 4, but puts Pulisic and CHO at the risk of being left out. Also, you say 10-15. I think 10 is much different than 15. 10 is not enough. Regarding our midfield - it would be a shame to leave one of Kova-Jorgi-Kante out. I think we would be much stronger to keep those three in first XI and add more fire-power at the wings. Question is basically, would you rather risk losing Pulisic/CHO, or Jorginho? I don't want to lose our vice-captain and one of few proper characters in squad. Sancho is really young, English (I guess that means homegrown right) player which is already really good and can be world-class, also, seems interested to come here. We won't have chance like that soon, usually Barca/Real/City/PSG, even Juve and Bayern grab players like those in front of us. We should not miss this chance.
  15. Chelsea's Transfer Targets

Pulisic is not really a world-beater, and never will be. If CHO can't be better than Pulisic, than it's all on him I think. We are playing in a lot of games so a believe all of them would get enough chances. Problem is that we really need more goals from somewhere. And it would be shame to replace Tammy, he is good enough. Other 2 in that attacking trio must be questioned in that regard.
  16. Chelsea 2-1 Aston Villa

Terry and Kovačić handshake-d, after that Mateo was screaming, Terry checking what it was? Lol, was that for real or a joke?
  17. Chelsea 1-2 Man Utd

There is no need for Gilmour when you have Kovačić and Jorginho. It's redundant. First thing I would do is to bring Mount for him to give us more edge in attack.
  18. Chelsea 1-0 Newcastle

Better tell us who is available than who is unavailable, list is shorter.
  19. Eden Hazard

Do you guys really think him being "fat" is the problem? Wasn't he this "fat" sometimes with us too, even when he had great seasons? Or was he "fat" with us, but is even fatter now, so it becomes a real problem? I'm not sold on this "fat" story, I think problem is much deeper than that.
  20. 5. Jorginho

Cool and calm after Barkley stole the show. Even gave him hand later as a sign of support, because what else can you do? He tried to get the best from a bad situation. I liked what he did and disliked what Willian did. Leader.
  21. 19. Mason Mount

Hope to God we will se Pulisic. Puly and Willy I want to see, Willian is in better form than Pedro, and Puly is more like Pedro, direct player who can be dangerous in front of goal so he compliments Willian.
  22. 19. Mason Mount

How long would it take to recover, approximately?
  23. 10. Willian

This reminds me of Marcos Alonso. "buuuuut he is wingback, you don't understaaaaand"
  24. 5. Jorginho

Glad Lamps mentioned that Jorginho can work on his passing range. I mean, his passes are pretty good even right now, but they are not excellent. And they COULD be just that, he has it in him. As for defence - Jorginho is not bad defensively, he is tactically mature, but not very fast or strong. Most of the time that should be enough alongside Kante. But let's not talk about how can we improve his defending, or even replacing him with some destroyoko, let's talk about how can we improve our defence. Also, his character is just awesome, it's really great having someone more vocal, mature and experienced, alongside all those kids.
  25. Super Frank Thread

One thing I really appreciate is playing Mount and Barkley on left "winger" position. We have SO MANY good midfielders, not so many good wingers, and now with Kovanteinho in form, I can see them being first choice. So RLC, Mount and Barkley won't just compete for most-advanced-mid position, they will also compete with the likes of Willian, Pedro, Pulisic and CHO for winger position so everyone could get their minutes and we should be good. Thing that bothers me the most actually is playing Azpi and James... Our captain is in decline I think, and Reece is the next big thing. Tough decision ahead of Frank. (... don't even know who would be our captain if Dave doesn't play, I hope to God it isn't Willian )
