  1. Past hour
  2. Yes that was woeful. One entire season to improve and you can't get that low in April. I understand something like that in the beginning of the season but at this moment we just see improvement. I would love Alonso but that's a pipe dream.
  3. I think Amorim is a very intelligent manager. He knows when to suffocate opposition with attacking threats whilst also knowing when to set up a mid/low block defensive structure (Arsenal in Europa last season). I think this has contributed to his phenomenal league record.
  4. Haven’t heard of him , I’ll watch a vid on his tactics
  5. I like Motta and Xavi on that list. I am also a huge fan of Sebastian Hoeneß, who has significantly elavated Stuttgart. Some here were quite vocal about wanting to keep Poch a few days ago, but come on. Poch is potter minus Palmer.
  6. Robin van Persie is to become the new head coach of Heerenveen
  7. PRE/POST-MATCH DISCUSSION, LIVE CHAT AND ANALYSIS Saturday 27th April 2024 Premier League Villa Park 8pm UK
  8. This thing happens: When you lose world class players like Didier, Lamps, Iva, Eden ... because of age then inevitably some lean years will follow. It's the same everywhere. But the major disaster is how the money was splash and dashed by Boehly in useless signings and now we are FPP'd as well.
  9. The girls need all the support they can get. Sadly I won't be there but I hope a few of you can be.
  10. Today
  11. Agreed he has had a dreadful season, compared to the standard we were expecting at least. It is said though that he has a hernia problem and has been having injections before the games because the pain is so bad, and has been contemplating having surgery to get it sorted properly. If that is true then I would tell the lad at this point to just get it done and be ready for next year, and hope that was a large part of his decline from the player we bought. I also think he has been misused and that ended up impacting his confidence, but that was partly his own fault as he actually asked to be used like that and said he could play further forward and contribute goals.
  12. If we put him up for sale he’d probably end up at the likes of Juventus or Barcelona , more than can be said for the other donkeys who’d end up at palace or West Ham he needs a good coach who can set a team up and midfield teammates who aren’t complete aids like Gallagher and caicedo no coincidence he looked better last season with kovacic and Kante
  13. This guy was brutal last night, and not enough is spoken about how average he has been this season. I;m actually not sure what he is meant to do or what he does really well
  14. People here are delicate and soft. Grow a pair. 2 subpar seasons and you lot throw the shit out the pram. Fold like lawn chairs. This team is a couple pieces and a few improvements to players away from competing regularly in top 4.
  15. At my previous Chelsea fan site, I had predicted Tuchel would not last more than 2 seasons at Bayern. I had explained it was because Tuchel is a control freak who, like Mourinho and Conte, values (defensive) organization of the team above all else to the detriment of creativity and initiative-taking of his players. They start off like a house on fire but peter out and start playing like robots bereft of freedom to improvise and afraid to make mistakes. It happens to them ALL the time and their teams implode. So no, thanks Poch is at the opposite side of the spectrum. No organization and intensity. Just initiative and freedom. Add a loser’s mentality unlike the guys above.
  16. I expected to see such articles today and for the rest of this week. We all know how the media absolutely LOVE a Chelsea meltdown and downfall. Many of them have articles written in drafts ready to post whenever something goes bad for Chelsea, and many of them are hoping and praying that Chelsea are […]View the full article
  17. I believe things are not going terribly well since 2017, after Antonio won the league. Two European cups but I don't buy it. From all those European adventures for me only two ties are really worth talking about: Against Real Madrid (1-1, 2-0), against City (1-0 with Kai). The likes of Lille - Seville - Atletico we could handle even today. Then the season 2021-22 was poor and in 2022-23 the bubble burst. On top of that the new management wasted the club's money buying useless / lame players. What can we do now ? The ghost of 1974 when we ended up playing second division looms large.
  18. I imagine the players have a similar sentiment about people like you to be fair
  19. I feel blessed that I totally forgot there was football last night (it being a random Tuesday evening). Not going to look into what happened too much. All I can think of is the Battle of the Bridge when Spurs were going for the title and how we stepped up to do the right thing, and how far we have fallen since then. As I have said before, I don't think there is any easy fix here, sacking Poch makes sense but I do think it is fair to say another manager will also massively struggle with the squad in the state it is in now (largely because of injuries) and you could argue its better to let Poch take the reputation hit until end of season and get a new manager in only then, hoping that by the start of next season we have a fit-ish squad and a better medical department for next year... but it does feel somewhat inevitable that the injured players will just stay injured and are basically close to write-offs and it will be a massive slice of luck if any of them end up having a proper Chelsea career playing as high level footballers. The owners have burnt their way through all the money and even if we had more we cannot spend much without breaking all of the financial rules, not that we'd spend it well if we did have ability to spend a lot more. So now our best hope is to spend smaller amounts in a few positions for just solid experiences players, get a good manager in, and hope all of this youth we've bought grow into top players. Don't really see any other option at this point, aside from if there are some new owners with deep pockets that want to try the rebuild v3.
