  3. Sanchez may have his foot in the door again after his last appearance, we know what Poch is like
  4. Hope I never have to see Sanchez and Sterling again, then we might have a chance.
  5. Boehly and co getting what they deserve
  6. No way Conte comes back. He would be drop kicking Clownlake in the face within a week.
  7. “I don’t condone racism but he is a shithouse on the pitch so he can’t have a victim mentality” this is a really fucking daft take 👍 We are talking about a 23 year old who has endured a lot of racism in various forms for the best part of the last 5 or 6 years since moving to Spain to play at Real Madrid. I mean there was an effigy of a doll with a Vini top on hanging off a bridge for fuck sakes. I am surprised it’s taken 5 years for him to break down publicly regarding the racism he’s endured, just shows how mentally strong he actually is. I don’t think it should matter what he does on the pitch, if he feels like a victim of racist abuse, it is because he has been and unfortunately, will probably continue to be as people are morons.
  8. We will see but I still think people are expecting too much too soon from Lavia. I don’t think it was ever a reality that he would be starting ahead of any of those 3 and was likely going to be coming in to back up Moises perhaps. And even then, if he did, same old question as it is now. Would that MF 3 still not be lacking severely in creativity or someone who gets in and around the box to good effect? I mean even with Connor, it is lacking of sorts and he has probably been our best central midfielder for attacking output this season. Instead of going hell for leather in 2 windows and getting Santos, Ugo and Lavia (all pretty much fall into that same category as more defensively minded midfielders) we probably could have signed a more creative midfielder and a more experienced campaigner for the same money if not less.
  9. Think the story was along the lines of Rickie Lambert and Jos Hooiveld went in after a training session and tried to get him to slacken up on the amount of running they were doing. In the end, he didn’t and actually made them run more the next time round. Which apparently “broke” Lambert - who then went on to play his best football of his career in the 18 months Poch was there. If its that clip which was off from BBC, it has been thrown about twitter and Reddit very much as a stick to beat Poch with regarding these injuries, which is wrong. Rickie Lambert later has gone on and still said countless times about how Poch was the best coach he’s ever worked with. Aaron Lennon did try and say Poch’s training maybe was behind our poor start this season - but because our players wouldn’t be used to the intensity and load of it. Which says more about how far off it we were last season also with 3 different managers in terms of preparation.

  11. Its undermining and sabotaging Chelsea FC. They should be in court and jailed.
  12. Yes before sacking the coach or buying any players they should do a total review of the medical team. This is just un aceptable. Getting new players or managers won't do it as they will be hamper by the incompetent of the medical team.
  13. We should do this comfortably -3-0 up from 1st leg
  14. This is all on Clownlake - sacking all the medical staff and outsourcing because its 'cheaper' Wankers
  15. The Premier League title race this season is heating up nicely, with three teams in genuine contention to finish top of the pile. Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal are currently fighting it out in a three way battle to claim the 2023/24 league crown in what could be a season to remember. The favourites for the […]View the full article

  18. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2024/03/27/Chelsea-romeo-lavia-ruled-out-rest-of-season/ Romeo Lavia has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering a setback in his recovery from injury – meaning he will have played just 32 minutes for Chelsea in the entire campaign. Chelsea paid £53 million to sign 20-year-old Lavia from Southampton ahead of Liverpool last summer, but the midfielder has been struck down by injuries. An ankle injury meant that it took Lavia four months to make his Chelsea debut as a 58th-minute substitute in the victory over Crystal Palace in December. But Lavia suffered a significant thigh injury during that cameo and has not played since. On Wednesday, Chelsea confirmed that the Belgian has suffered a setback in his recovery and has now been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign. Lavia is just one name on a long list of Chelsea players who have been out with injuries this season, which also includes Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Christopher Nkunku, Lesly Ugochukwu, Levi Colwill. Carney Chukwuemeka and Ben Chilwell have also been out, but have recently returned. The Chelsea statement said: “Midfielder Romeo Lavia is to unfortunately miss the remainder of our 2023-24 campaign following a setback in his recovery. “Recent medical assessments have confirmed that Lavia, who sustained a significant thigh injury against Crystal Palace back in December, will not feature again this season.” Lavia’s absence will invite more scrutiny on Chelsea’s medical department, which has seen the resignation of long-serving medical director Dimitrios Kalogiannidis this year. Chelsea have advertised the fact they are looking to appoint a new head of performance medicine on the Linkedin website. The advertisement for the first-team role, for which the salary is listed as ‘competitive’ says: “This is a key role to the club and requires a collaborative, committed and professional medical practitioner, who can be a great teammate. The role will include but not limited to providing injury or illness assessments, undertaking player signing medicals and assisting in decision making and rehabilitation management of medical issues when required.” It adds: “We want to deliver football medicine and performance sciences differently. To create and be an integrated, open-minded and performance support focused team behind the team. We seek to empower our staff, and our model is evolving as we seek to bring in new approaches and thoughts. “We are looking for someone who can build rapport quickly with staff and players, and be a clear communicator to allow all involved to be fully informed of players’ health status and readiness to play.”
  19. Ricky Lambert speaking against Poch when he was managing at Southampton. All they did was run full intensity on training days after a match.
  20. Maybe under Poch but if/when we finally have a modern/possesion based manager it will be a Lavia/Enzo/Caicedo three with Conor (if he's still here) used appropriately as the horses for courses option.
  21. Fans turn on Chelsea owners and make it clear that they “never will be” welcomed https://www.caughtoffside.com/2024/03/27/Chelsea/ Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has been a fan of the multi-club ownership model ever since acquiring the West London club but it looks like it is blowing up in his face. BlueCo bought a majority stake last summer in Ligue 1 side Strasbourg to kick-start their multi-club project but the fans of the French outfit have never accepted the Chelsea owners. There was resentment toward the idea from the start and it has just got worse amid poor results, criticism of their youth-first transfer strategy and fury among fans about a lack of communication from the owners There will be a protest march before Strasbourg’s game against Rennes on Sunday and the Ligue 1 club’s largest fan group, Ultra Boys 90, have said that BlueCo “aren’t welcome and never will be”. The group have also released a statement this month regarding their new owners, in which they said via The Standard: “Racing is now nothing more than a financial asset, owned by an investment fund that already owns another club. “Multi-club is killing football, and we’ll fight it!” Chelsea and others should be stopped from owning multiple clubs Strasbourg are currently just four points above the relegation zone in Ligue 1 and face a battle to avoid dropping down to Ligue 2 throughout the rest of the campaign. Multi-club ownership should be banned in football as all it does is make the big clubs stronger while destroying the progression of the club being bought. For example, Strasbourg can’t grow and challenge for titles in France when their purpose now is to serve Chelsea. The same goes for Red Bull and the City Group. The concept is very unfair on the fans of the club being bought and it is one of many things wrong with modern football.
  22. I don’t know. For the past 18 months since the changes made by Boehly/Clearlake to the medical department, the injuries/recovery timelines have been absolutely ridiculous. Under Tuchel, Potter, Lampard and now Poch. And even then, Poch has never a huge record of players getting injured constantly at any other club in his career either so wouldn’t see how that would start here given how fit his teams are usually (say usually because some of our mob in particular Enzo Fernandez, Axel Disasi, Reece James & Ben Chilwell when both have played, barely look like their fit enough to play Sunday league football never mind professional). It is ironic as well all the players that seem to be getting regular or big injured are guys with poor injury histories. Not sure whats in the tweet as been deleted.
